UDST President Dr. Salem Al-Naemi Receives International Ambassador for Social Responsibility Award

Regional Network for Social Responsibility honors Dr. Al-Naemi for contributions to sustainable development and integration of social responsibility principles across institutional operations.

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) announced that its President, Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, has been awarded the honorary title of “International Ambassador for Social Responsibility” by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility. The recognition acknowledges Dr. Al-Naemi’s contributions to social responsibility and sustainable development across Qatar and the Arab region.

The Regional Network for Social Responsibility, a professional non-profit organization with memberships in international institutions including the UN Global Compact, the International Rehabilitation Organization, and the International Union for Social Responsibility, selected Dr. Al-Naemi for his leadership in embedding social responsibility principles within institutional operations.

Recognition of Institutional Integration

Dr. Salem Al-Naemi expressed his response to the honor:

“This recognition is a reflection of the collective effort at UDST to champion social responsibility and sustainability. As educators and leaders, it is our duty to integrate these values into our academic and community initiatives, inspiring others to contribute to the well-being and development of society.”

During the ceremony, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Ibrahim, Vice President of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility, positioned UDST’s work within broader educational objectives:

“Dr. Salem Al-Naemi embodies the model of an academic leader who believes that education is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but a mission to build individuals, advance communities, and strengthen values. Under his leadership, the University of Doha for Science and Technology has become a beacon of innovation, integrating education, social responsibility, and sustainability. Its initiatives have significantly contributed to national development, youth empowerment, and capacity building in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030.”

International Ambassadors Program

The award ceremony was held in Doha, where a delegation from the Regional Network for Social Responsibility officially presented Dr. Al-Naemi with the title. The recognition is part of the Network’s International Ambassadors for Social Responsibility program, launched in 2014 to honor individuals who have demonstrated commitment to advancing social responsibility principles.

With this recognition, Dr. Al-Naemi joins a group of Arab and international leaders acknowledged for promoting ethical, inclusive, and sustainable practices at national and global levels. The award reflects UDST’s institutional emphasis on integrating social responsibility into academic programming and community engagement activities aligned with national development objectives.
